Cashless Systems

Cashless systems are becoming increasingly common within schools enabling secure and cashless payment for school meals. They help to make the lunch period more efficient and enable the school to increase its catering revenue and speed of service.

APH computers Probyte system has been designed by our in-house team of developers who are experienced in the cashless environment. It provides an integrated and secure solution that has been tried and tested in many schools.

It can be customised to meet the individual needs of schools and links with a number of existing registration and library management systems.

Secondary Schools

Probyte uses computerised EPOS touch screen tills to process each transaction and control user requests in line with pre-set parameters, e.g. daily spending limit. The system has been designed to fit any cashless environment and features:

• Ease of use - Users need no past experience of computers or extensive training to utilise the system. It's simple and intuitive screens make it simple to operate and use.
• Fully customisable EPOS interface - Configured to suit individual schools particular requirements and needs.
• Offline mode - Should the network experience a problem, Probyte is designed to work in offline mode ensuring that canteen operations are not inconvenienced.
• Network ready - Probyte can be seamlessly integrated with your existing systems and can even be operated within a wireless network.
• Overdraft and spending limits - The school and parents are able to setup spending limits for pupils
• Lost & stolen cards - Probyte has been developed so that all the data is held on the main system as opposed to the card itself. This coupled with the unique ID card photo that is displayed on the EPOS system, ensures that any lost or stolen cards cannot be used fraudulently.
• Management information system (MIS) - The MIS produces extensive and customisable reports covering all the key processes of operation. This information can be shared with parents who are willing to monitor the eating preferences of their children.

The top-up unit has been designed to work seamlessly with the main system. This sophisticated and robust unit provides:

• Automatic notification of note and coin-jams
• Improved note readers
• Top-up time restrictions
• The facility to produce instant reports
• The ability to view account status
